Volunteers

HOW IT WORKS:

1. BROWSE: You can filter volunteer opportunities based on community interest or by subject area relating to your skills and experience. Possible skill sets and experience that may be needed by non-profits include:

Arts, crafts, music and photography
Communications and marketing
Disability support
Education
Environment
Entrepreneurship
Finance/accounting
Health and wellbeing
Human resources
Information technology

Legal/advocacy
Organizational management
Outdoor activities (gardening and landscaping)
Research and writing
Skilled trades
Special events and festivals
Sports
Translation and interpretation
Social media

2. CONNECT: When you find an opportunity of interest to you, click on the ‘I’m Interested’ button to express your interest with the selected non-profit or charity. (Before submitting the form with your contact details, you must read and accept Impact Hours’ terms and conditions and privacy policy.) It is the responsibility of the non-profit or charity to acknowledge receipt of your expression of interest and to indicate any next steps and requirements (e.g., background checks). Prospective volunteers should feel free to ask questions.

3. HAVE AN IMPACT: If you and the organization both decide it’s a good fit, you will make a difference by helping a local non-profit in need of your skills and experience!

4. DIDN’T SEE ANYTHING TODAY? Subscribe to email alerts for your preferred search criteria. You will be notified by email when a volunteer opportunity is posted that matches your search criteria.

5. FEEDBACK: Impact Hours would love to receive feedback to improve the site, as well as volunteering testimonials. Please send along to [email protected].

TESTIMONIAL: “Volunteering with JA Ottawa placed me in local high schools to share my entrepreneurial experience with the new generation. What I didn’t expect was how fulfilling my time has been. They’ve helped me to remember what being younger and free to make choices means. It’s enriched my life in ways I can’t even describe.”
