The Treasurer ensures financial accountability of the program by:

  • providing guidance as required to the President & Board of Directors in support of collecting/disbursing funds and reporting financial results
  • ensuring current and acceptable financial policies and practices are in place
  • attempting to reduce/eliminate non-productive expenses and enhance generation of revenue
  • preparing and maintaining monthly financial statements in Quick Books
  • preparing required "charity reconciliation reports"
  • meeting annually with the auditor to finalize the Financial Statements in advance of the Annual General Meeting
  • preparing the annual GST/PST refund application for submission to Canada Revenue Agency
  • attending monthly meetings
