Description

OBJECTIVE:  Assist low income individuals and families with income tax preparation and filing

 

DUTIES:

Correctly complete all necessary forms for income tax returns on days/times that you have agreed upon with Coordinator.

Provide excellent customer service to clients.

Educate clients as needed on the income tax requirements, including documentation, legal requirements, CRA expectations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience completing income tax returns

Knowledge of Canadian income tax system

Reliable team player, responsible

Friendly, welcoming attitude towards all clients

An understanding and respect of confidentiality

Able to work independently

Maintain confidentiality and privacy

Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality

Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping

A commitment to the mission of the CVITP and a desire to help those in need

 

REQUIREMENTS

Volunteers must meet certain requirements before they can participate in the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP)

Register with CVITP

Obtain a valid police records check

Apply for an EFILE number or Renew your EFILE account

Apply for a representative identifier (RepID)

 

LOCATION:

1355 Bank Street, 6th Floor  Or  3320 Paul Anka Drive

 

TIME COMMITMENT:

Income Tax Clinic operates Monday to Friday 9:00am to 3:00pm from the week of February 20 to April 30.

 

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Responsible to Rachel Mutata, Service Coordinator.
