English Language Tutoring for the Ottawa Community (ELTOC) provides individualized and accessible home-based English as a Second Language (ESL) tutoring to eligible adult newcomers who cannot attend regular ESL classes by matching them with ELTOC-trained volunteers.

Our volunteers contribute to our vision of a strong, inclusive, multicultural community by helping newcomers gain the confidence and community ties that will allow them to integrate into Canadian society.

Want to build a strong, inclusive, multicultural community? Can you commit 3 hours a week for 10 months?

Your experience and guidance is needed to help us tutor the English language to our increasing waitlist of newcomers who can't attend regular classes. This opportunity will allow you to share your knowledge and make a difference in the life of a newcomer to Canada.
