Caregiver Drop in Facilitator
Abbotsford@The Glebe Centre has initiated a new program that will provide support for caregivers and caree’s on Sunday afternoons over the fall and winter. This is a drop in program and the volunteers would help with set up and take down for the activities. The volunteer would help to serve coffee, run a caregiver book club, run a history photo area and or help with crafts. Volunteers are needed Sunday afternoons from 1 – 4pm. Volunteers should be comfortable working with individuals diagnosed with mild to moderate cognitive decline.
As well, we require volunteers to provide assistance with the organization and preparation for the Sunday program. The volunteers would come in during the week 4-5 hours each week at a designated time. The volunteer would help pick up supplies, help with preparing activities, help to promote the events and assist with creating a memory wall of the Ottawa area with captions.
Volunteers are also needed to help with an Evening Talk on September 18 from 6:30 – 9:00. The volunteers would help with set up and taking down chairs, speakers table and electronics. The volunteers would serve coffee and tea and help to direct people to their seats and or help with registering attendees.
